Cheaper mats are usually thinner, or only 2 layers thick - or both! It is this thick 3 layer construction that give our mats their long durability.
For normal hobby use they often last a lifetime! When you consider increased blade life, improved accuracy of cuts, and protection offered to work surfaces, our cutting mats are a fine investment. All of our cutting mats are 3mm thick and have 3 layers sandwiched together.
